Given the mean change, standard deviation and sample size per arm across studies, respondeR estimates the proportion of patients who cross a minimal important difference (MID) threshold under a parametric model for the change scores, and contrasts the arms as a risk difference, risk ratio, odds ratio or number needed to treat. It provides median, unweighted-mean, weighted-mean and per-study (fixed- or random-effects) pooling, the standardized-mean-difference to odds-ratio bridge of Anzures-Cabrera, Sarpatwari and Higgins (2011) , a threshold-free common-language effect size, and a point-and-click 'Shiny' application. The estimation methods were evaluated in a simulation study by Sofi-Mahmudi (2024) . authors: - family-names: Sofi-Mahmudi given-names: Ahmad email: a.sofimahmudi@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6829-0823 preferred-citation: type: manual title: 'respondeR: Responder Analysis for Continuous Outcomes' authors: - family-names: Sofi-Mahmudi given-names: Ahmad email: a.sofimahmudi@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6829-0823 year: '2026' notes: R package version 0.1.0 url: https://choxos.github.io/respondeR/ repository: https://cran.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/choxos/respondeR commit: 46663f0a5fd033a3f9c526c11843aad5ddd0a7a3 url: https://choxos.github.io/respondeR/ date-released: '2026-06-19' contact: - family-names: Sofi-Mahmudi given-names: Ahmad email: a.sofimahmudi@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6829-0823 references: - type: thesis title: Identifying an Optimal Strategy for Converting Pain as a Continuous Outcome to a Responder Analysis authors: - family-names: Sofi-Mahmudi given-names: Ahmad institution: name: McMaster University year: '2024' url: https://hdl.handle.net/11375/30210 thesis-type: Master's Thesis - type: article title: 'Pooling health-related quality of life outcomes in meta-analysis: a tutorial and review of methods for enhancing interpretability' authors: - family-names: Thorlund given-names: Kristian - family-names: Walter given-names: Stephen D. - family-names: Johnston given-names: Bradley C. - family-names: Furukawa given-names: Toshi A. - family-names: Guyatt given-names: Gordon H. journal: Research Synthesis Methods year: '2011' volume: '2' issue: '3' doi: 10.1002/jrsm.46 start: 188 to 203
