Models are estimated by expectation-maximization, handle missing data, and provide standard and robust standard errors. Model selection is supported by information criteria, entropy, classification diagnostics, and a parametric bootstrap likelihood ratio test. Covariates can be related to latent class membership using three-step methods with correction for classification error. Latent transition models estimate transitions between latent profiles across ordered occasions and are compatible with the 'tna' package for network and sequence analysis. The multilevel mixture formulation follows Vermunt (2003) . authors: - family-names: Saqr given-names: Mohammed email: saqr@saqr.me orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5881-3109 - family-names: López-Pernas given-names: Sonsoles orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9621-1392 repository: https://cran.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/mohsaqr/latents commit: 1a2dba1117e4c9466b58af664069066cc6db2f79 url: https://pak.dynasite.org/latents/ date-released: '2026-10-16' contact: - family-names: Saqr given-names: Mohammed email: saqr@saqr.me orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5881-3109
