This package provides functions\nfor two subgroup identification methods based on penalized\nfunctions, both of which utilize factor model structures to\nadapt to data with cross-sectional dependency. The first method\nis the Subgroup Identification with Latent Factor Structure\nMethod (SILFSM) we proposed. By employing Center-Augmented\nRegularization and factor structures, the SILFSM effectively\neliminates data dependencies while identifying subgroups within\ndatasets. For this model, we offer optimization functions based\non two different methods: Coordinate Descent and our newly\ndeveloped Difference of Convex-Alternating Direction Method of\nMultipliers (DC-ADMM) algorithms; the latter can be applied to\ncases where the distance function in Center-Augmented\nRegularization takes L1 and L2 forms. The other method is the\nFactor-Adjusted Pairwise Fusion Penalty (FA-PFP) model, which\nincorporates factor augmentation into the Pairwise Fusion\nPenalty (PFP) developed by Ma, S. and Huang, J. (2017)\n. Additionally, we provide a\nfunction for the Standard CAR (S-CAR) method, which does not\nconsider the dependency and is for comparative analysis with\nother approaches. Furthermore, functions based on the Bayesian\nInformation Criterion (BIC) of the SILFSM and the FA-PFP method\nare also included in 'SILFS' for selecting tuning parameters.\nFor more details of Subgroup Identification with Latent Factor\nStructure Method, please refer to He et al.
